- Prince Harry announced the birth of his and Meghan Markle's son on live TV this morning, saying they have "a very healthy baby boy."
- He called the child's arrival "the most amazing experience I could ever possibly imagine."
- The Duke of Sussex also praised the strength of mothers: "How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension."
After months of anticipation, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle happily welcomed a boy this morning, sending royal fans into complete and total excitement. However, it seems no one was as happy as first-time dad, the Duke of Sussex.
Moments after the royal couple announced the birth on social media, Harry also shared the good news during a live BBC broadcast. He said gleefully on camera:
"I'm very happy to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy early this morning, a very healthy boy. Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. It's been the most amazing experience I could ever possibly imagine. "How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension. But we're both absolutely thrilled and so grateful to all the love and support from everybody out there. It's been amazing so we just wanted to share this with everybody."Harry added that he and Meghan are "still thinking about names" for their new bundle of joy. "The baby's a little bit overdue, so we've had a little bit of time to think about it," he said. "But yeah, that's the next bit."
The Duke of Sussex also teased when we'll see Baby Sussex for the first time. "But for us, I think we'll be seeing you guys in probably two days' time as planned as a family to be able to share with you guys so everyone could see the baby," he said.
The new dad continued with high praise for Meghan:
"I haven't been at many births. This is definitely my first birth, but it was amazing. Absolutely incredible. As I said, I'm so incredibly proud of my wife. And as every father and parent would ever say, your baby is absolutely amazing, but this little thing is absolutely to die for, so I'm just over the moon. Thank you very much guys."After Buckingham Palace announced earlier today that Meghan had gone into labor, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made the news official with an announcement on their Instagram page.
"We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz.," part of the caption read.
There is still no picture of the child and his name has not yet been revealed, but what we do know is that he's seventh in line for the throne, right after Prince Harry. We can't wait to see Baby Sussex out and about with his royal mom and dad!
